Manufacturing Process Engineer Newark, Delaware, United States

DUTIES:

  • Track design changes and their implementation into Bills of Material
  • Perform routine cost roll ups based on released and not released Bills of Material, construct bridge charts showing details as to why costs are increasing or decreasing based on BOM changes.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services
  • Figure out how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency
  • Develop management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient
  • Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
  • Work with customers and management to develop standards for design and production
  • Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards
  • Confer with clients about product specifications, vendors about purchases, management personnel about manufacturing capabilities, and staff about the status of projects

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 yrs experience in FDA regulated environment (ISO, FDA) or manufacturing environment with a preference for new product introduction.
  • Experience in establishing supply chain strategies and their implementation.
  • Experience with design & manufacturing tools & principles involved in the production of precision devices, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of high quality goods such as Lean and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:

  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • MS Access experience is preferred

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applies advanced skills, to resolve independently, complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices.
  • Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems and has the ability to Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply-Chain and other functions.
  • Must have good verbal and written communications and presentation skills and can work independently in a fast-paced new product development environment.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time, both domestic and international.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or General Engineering with 5 - 8 years related experience.
